Since forming in 2000, Vishtèn has become one of the most exciting folk bands on the international music scene. During this period they have released four albums, won numerous awards and have played more than a thousand performances in more than a dozen countries throughout Europe, Australia and North America. From the Vancouver Winter Olympics to the Newport Folk Festival, Les Printemps de Pérouges in France and Festival International de Louisiane to Woodbury Folk Festival in Australia, Vishtèn has won over audiences of all sizes – they are equally at home in intimate listening rooms or before throngs in the tens of thousands.
With inspiration, deep respect, and a love for the sounds and rhythms forged by the musicians who came before them, Vishtèn continues to reinterpret the music of their parents, all the while creating a future heritage of new music – their own legacy to inspire musicians for generations to come.
Depuis sa création en 2000, Vishtèn s’est établi comme un des bands les plus électrifiants de la scène folk internationale. Le trio a lancé quatre albums et a gagné de nombreux prix. Le dernier album Mosaïk a ainsi gagné l’Album Francophone de l’Année 2013 aux Prix de la Musique de la Côte Est (ECMA). Les musiciens ont donné plus de mille concerts sur trois continents, des Jeux Olympiques d’hiver à Vancouver au fameux Festival Folk de Newport; du Printemps de Pérouges en France au Festival Interceltique de Lorient, et du Festival International de Louisiane au Festival Folk de Woodbury en Australie. Avec leur style trad-contemporain, Vishtèn a aussi gagné le cœur d’un large public, charmant des petites salles intimes et faisant vibrer des foules de milliers de fans.
