Take a trip back in time with the Ottawa Valley’s greatest songwriter and most popular entertainer Mac Beattie at the Almonte Celtfest Theatre Night, Friday July 11, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at the Almonte Old Town Hall.
Since 2003 the Stone Fence Theatre Company has been “putting the Ottawa Valley onstage” and making a whole lot of audiences happy! Every year, the company cooks up a unique blend of story telling, comedy, history, traditional music, fiddling, step-dancing and fun and serves it to Valley residents and visitors! At the invitation of the Almonte Celtfest Society’s 2008 festival, the company is bringing back their production of On the Air with Mac’s Melodiers.
Mac Beattie was Mr. Ottawa Valley – the area’s greatest song-writer and most popular entertainer in the 1940’s, and 50’s. Celtfest invites you to take a step back in time and explore the life and times of this famed Ottawa Valley man and his unique blend of 40’s swing and traditional Valley music.
